Our pupils had a wonderful start to the 2023/2024 school year as we re-commenced our Buddy Reading sessions. This peer tutoring literacy programme has been taking place in the school for a number of years and has proved hugely beneficial for younger and older participants.

Younger buddies are afforded the opportunity to listen to reading from a fluent model, they receive one-on-one support and are encouraged to develop comprehension skills and engage in meaningful discussions about the text. Older buddies get the chance to practice leadership skills, act as a mentor, build confidence and develop problem-solving strategies.
