School Hours

The school day begins at 9.20am, with the school doors opening at 9am. School finishes at 2pm for Junior and Senior Infants and 3pm for all other pupils.

Uniform

Dromleigh N.S. has a school uniform and a tracksuit for PE days.

The uniform is a grey pants, a grey shirt, maroon jumper and tie.

The tracksuit is a grey tracksuit pants, grey polo shirt and grey jumper. These are available from TM Cronin’s Macroom.

Shorts are also now part of the uniform. The correct school shorts are optional and are also available in TM Cronin’s Macroom.

School Transport

The school is serviced by Bus Éireann School Transport Scheme

Absences

If a child is absent from school for any reason, a note of explanation should be given to the class teacher. This can take the form of a note in the child’s journal or by email. If a child is absent for 20 days or more, the school is obliged to notify the National Education Welfare Board.

Healthy Lunches

Children require healthy nutritious school lunches. A sandwich, piece of fruit, a yogurt and water are recommended as an appropriate lunch. Fizzy drinks, crisps, chocolate, sweets and chewing gum are not allowed.
